Notes of Flyleaf: “The object of this book is to show in realistic colour photographs, supported by full colour drawings, how sails should look for maximum performance on any type of sailing boat. The author begin by explaining how to make the invisible power supply, moving air flow effectively and what the sails show when it is working best. Related to this is the design and construction of modern yacht and dingy sails. The comedown-to-earth detail on attaining and watching for the best effect in mainsails, headsails, spinnakers and their variations. There is detailed direct guidance on tuning both the masthead and non-masthead rig: again there is considerations of cruisers, ocean racers, keel boats and dinghies. With this book as reading and reference, it will become possible to get quick results and extra enjoyment from yachting’s most important material components -  the sails themselves.”
