Back Story

“Macrame is the ancient art of knotting, derived from netting and sailors’ knots, and the decoration of fringes left after weaving. It was practised in Europe from the seventeenth century and became very popular in England and America in the nineteenth century. The craft was carried round the world by sailors, who called it ‘square knotting.’
